You'll want to pick up some basic supplies to start like gloves that will protect your skin from the initial cleaning of the concrete which involves some heavy duty chemicals. Then buy a respirator, primer and brushes and rollers. It takes about a gallon per hundred square feet for an entire garage floor coating.Another sealant you can use is epoxy. This really fills the flaws of your concrete floor and provides a deep seal. It's much stronger than acrylic and can be applied to an existing painted floor if it has been cleaned properly. It may take a little longer and will cost in the neighborhood of $500, but the final look is amazing. Of the two styles, the epoxy coating is a much more reliable way to protect the floor of your garage and gives you a showroom look when it is dry.
